Champions’ Cup is Taken Home by Winner of „Rally Talsi 2012” Jānis Vorobjovs
The Rally of Champions ended on the Sunday afternoon with a battle for victory in the very last stage between Andis Neikšāns and Jānis Vorobjovs. After the first day of „Rally Talsi 2012” Neikšāns was leading by 1,67 seconds with Kaspar Koitla in the third place, but that was about to change in the last 21 competitive kilometers of the rally.

The opening day in „Rally Talsi 2012” completed and local crew Andis Neikšāns/Pēteris Dzirkals are first only 1,67 seconds ahead of their closest follower Jānis Vorobjovs/Guntars Zicāns leaving Raimonds Kisiels/Arnis Ronis in third.

The all-gravel shakedown completed before the start of „Rally Talsi 2012” and Raimonds Kisiels, driving a Mitsubishi Lancer WRC, set the fastest time out of 30 crews attending this 5,2 kilometre stage.

Yesterday a press afternoon of „Rally Talsi 2012” was held in Riga, „Ātruma Cilts” Go-Kart hall. It was attended by rally organizer Raimonds Strokšs, three champions – Norwegian Mads Ostberg, Lithuanian Vytautas Švedas, Latvian Andis Neikšāns and „MML Sports” Managing Director John Easton.

Acceptance of the applications for participation in the “Rally Talsi 2012” has come to an end. 80 crews from eight countries have applied for participation in the Rally Of Champions this year, and on the starting line we will see the fastest drivers of the region.

Organizers of IRC Series Will Arrive in Latvia
On 26th and 27th of April the representatives of the IRC series (Intercontinental Rally Challenge) will visit Latvia with the purpose to get to know more about the possible rally routes, to get acquainted with the „RA Motosport” team and to meet the representatives of the Government of Latvia and the Liepāja City.

Less than a month is left till the „Rally Talsi 2012” and the preparations for the Rally of Champions are at full power. Participation in “Rally Talsi 2012” Confirmed by Six Champions, Including WRC Star Mads Ostberg!
The summer season of the Latvian Rally Championship traditionally begins with the “Rally Talsi”, which for the fourth year in turn is known as the Rally of Champions. This year, on 12th and 13th May, in Talsi the rally competition will be among six actual rally champions from five different countries — Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Russia and Norway. Thus it is a high time to ask the traditional question — will the Latvians defeat the titled foreign guests?

The first round of „Baltic Rally Challenge 2012” in Talsi!
The first round of „Baltic Rally Challenge 2012” will be held in „Rally Talsi 2012”. This year there will be three rounds in „Baltic Rally Challenge”, each of them in one of the Baltic States and the Baltic Champion title will be given in three groups – Baltic rally 4WD, 2WD and Junior.
