TV show star Gerda Stiklickienė, well known Lithuanian singer Ineta Puzaraitė and singer‘s Arvydas Vilčinskas wife Rūta share their individual experience how to drive kids in a car.

Famous mothers emphasize the importance of fastening seat belts and speak about safety on the road. Any reckless step may have severe impact or even cost a life.

‘From the first days my child was driven in the baby car seat. When he grew up, I just fastened the seat belt. I believe every responsible mother should think about the child safety at the car. As I remember, when Markas grew up, he was not really happy about the seat belt. As a result, we had several discussions and talked about the importance of safety’, said Stiklickienė.

TV star‘s son was stunned by the social advertisement of Lithuanian Road Administration. The advertisement shows a little girl without a seat belt fastened. During car accident she falls out through the windshield.

‘After he saw the advertisement, my child kept asking if this situation was possible to happen. From that day fastening a seat belt has been his choice, I do not have to ask to do that anymore’, Stiklickienė said.

‘From the first days my little Barborytė has been traveling in the car. As a result, she is used to a baby car seat and does not object. I use all the seat belts described in the instructions. I believe, the most important thing is the safety of the child. Children do not sit calmly. You can‘t predict if the child would not try to get out from the baby car seat if seat belt is not fastened’, said Puzaraitė who usually travels with her child.

The singer suggests giving snacks to the child, thinking about interesting games and making more frequent stops when traveling with the child.

‘I always put my child into the baby car seat and fasten with seat belt. If the child objects, I try to explain what may happen. We talk about the possibility of car accident or injury. My child understands worse outcome and usually fastens the seat belt by himself’, Vilčinskas’ wife Rūta told.

Asked if mothers fasten seat belts for themselves, they insisted doing it immediately after entering the car. Good example is one of the key educational tools.

Statistics show that fastened seat belts save more than a half drivers and passengers involved in a car accident.

What is more, it is known that passengers who do not fasten seat belts on the back seat may be the cause of driver’s or front passenger’s death.
