For the first time in the program of Festival of Speed, we have included the LADA CUP and we welcome still popular rally cars LADA, Moskvich, Volga and ZAZ to race.

These rally veterans with have the honour to open the rally competition, promoting the cars that once were the winners of champion titles. LADA CUP competitions will happen in two classifications – with engines up to 1.6 litres and rear wheel drive and Lada Open Cup where both front wheel drive cars, both rebuilt Lada cars with an engine over 1,6 litres and other historic rally cars manufactured in ex-Soviet Union - Moskvich, Volga and ZAZ brands. LADA CUP participants will start the race before the participants of rally and rally-sprint in a separate channel.

We have also created the special TRUCK CUP classification because these were trucks that opened the first event of the oldest rally in the Baltics in Liepaja in 1965. GAZ cars from Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are welcome to take a part in the rally „Kurzeme 2016”.

We have prepared more than 120 kilometres in special stages, winding along the fast and attractive Kurzeme roads. As every year, drivers will have to overcome interesting and curvy turns, tricky over crests and prove their skills on the difficult still very enjoying stages, loved by everybody involved in rallies. Meanwhile, rally sprint distance is prepared in a compact mode with both recce and stages on Friday, May 6. Full rally distance will continue in the Saturday, May 7.
