The rallysprint “Vidzeme” is planned as a one-day competition. The morning part of Saturday, 24 May, will give room for administrative checks, reconnaissance, and scrutineering. The rallysprint is set-up for a midday start, with the drivers heading to the first of two unique special stages, which the crews will complete twice. Afterwards, the competitors will return to the service park that will be based on the territory of the sports complex “333” – giving enough time to work on both, their sports cars and driving performance. Later in the afternoon, a second special stage is scheduled – again, the crews will have to complete it twice. Finally, in the latter part of the day, the crews will return to the service park, where the fastest crews will also be awarded.
The sporting format of the rallysprint is set up in a slightly unusual manner, with the crews first completing one special stage twice, but in the second part of the day, after the service park, they will also have to complete the second special stage twice. Such a format will be especially convenient for spectators, who will be able to see the competitors and their favourites in all four planned special stages.
“When we started planning of the rallysprint “Vidzeme”, we decided to take a new, innovative path, creating a competition with a rarely used format in Latvia – providing a unique opportunity for our rallysprint spectators to see all the stages. That is a rare feature in a gravel rally competition,” says Jānis Krastiņš, the organizer of the rallysprint “Vidzeme”. “Such a schedule will also allow crews to set-up their competition car differently, and if necessary, adjusting the set-up for one stage, and then the other – without looking for compromises between the two,” concludes Jānis Krastiņš.

The supplementary regulations for the rallysprint “Vidzeme” will be published on 25 April, when registration for participants will also begin. For the successful conduct of the competition, a limit has been set for the number of participants – 45 crews.
